Fossilization is a term that involves millions of years in some cases and several years in other cases. There would be millions of years involved for a dinosaur to die, naturally be buried, “Fossilized” then be discovered. This process on land and sea will be explored in subsequent sections. However we would like to point out that there are many types of preservation processes that take place in nature. Let us now explore the processes of fossilization, mineralization, imprints, encasement, casts, petrification, mummification and freezing.
